Pressing Onward

I hope this message finds you resting in our Lord after a busy Christmas season. I pray that all of you had a blessed time with friends and family as we celebrated the coming of the Christ Child. It is hard to believe that Christmas has come and gone already, but that is how life goes isn’t it? Time waits for no one! And with each new day comes a new set of challenges and experiences. It’s no different for the life of the church.

In our last update we celebrated the $500,000 gift that we received earlier this summer along with some exciting news about moving forward with our project. The great news that I have to share with you right now is that we are completely debt free on that land. We own it free and clear and no longer are paying a mortgage on it. Unfortunately, along with that news we also found out that our builder mis-judged their ability to build a 10,000 square foot building for $2 million. This means that we’re in a bit of a holding pattern and waiting on the Lord to show us what our next steps should be.

Because of this, I would like to encourage you to pray for the following…

  • Pray that the Lord’s direction for our church would be clear.
  • Pray that we would find favor in our lenders eyes as they are looking at creative options to help finance this project.
  • Pray that if we are to sell any land that it would be a smooth, easy and quick process.

Finally, I want to encourage you to continue to give. God is moving and doing great things in our midst. There are stories of lives being changed, we just had a wonderful Christmas week and we are giving almost $1,700 to Food For Hope due to our Christmas Eve offering. Please take this final week of 2018 to consider catching up if you’re behind in your pledge. For those of you who continue to give and are current, a special thank you to you. Your faithfulness is inspiring! Also, so you know, any money that comes in before midnight on December 31st will be credited towards 2018 giving and will be shown on your 2018 giving statements for tax purposes.

On November 11&12, 2017 we had our pledge weekend for the generosity campaign, PREVAIL. Just a few weeks later, the giving phase began and on December 3&4 we entered into that two-year phase. I am pleased to announce the following:

Total Pledged: $502,562
Total Received To Date: $225,641
% of Pledge Received To Date: 44.8%
% of Pledge Expected to Date: 50%

Thank you so much for your faithfulness in giving to the PREVAIL Campaign. As you can see, we have received about 45% of committed giving with 50% expected as we move into the new year. With that said, thank you to those who have remained current in your giving and for those who may have fallen behind, there is still plenty of time to catch up. Remember, that EVERY gift is important! Thanks again for your faithfulness in giving.
